 I’ve had a lot of people ask me “how much are my puppies.”  According to the breed standard, German Shepherd’s can range from $800 to $5,000 or more depending on pedigree and lines.

My black, working line is $2,500.

There is a lot that goes into breeding besides two dogs producing puppies. For a quality German Shepherd, you pay top dollar.  Our puppies are mid-range in cost.  My program is robust and includes a curriculum to produce the top quality puppies you deserve. There are huge costs included in breeding a healthy litter. Preliminary test to ensure our dogs should be bred at all, such as hip evaluation, temperament evaluation, DNA test for genetic defects, all of which cost money even before puppies the born. Someone who simply allowed their dog to get pregnant by another AKC registered German Shepherd, then handing the puppies off to owners at six weeks is something I call “buyer beware.”  You don’t know what you are getting. I socialize my puppies as well, they are handled personally by me every day. They are temperament checked before leaving the premises for their new home. I won’t place a high energy puppy with a family who does not understand the high demands of a German Shepherd. I’ve included a list with the cost of breeding a German Shepherd. This does not include the socialization tools I purchase to ensure these puppies are ready to go to their new home. Below is a list, which is not all inclusive, that outlines the costs associated with breeding these dogs.  This list is not all inclusive.  We have found that at times, the cost is much more.  For example, if the Dam requires a C-section ($2,000+) and any incidentals that pop up. Our purpose is to deliver a top quality puppy and with that in mind, at times we break even. Our #1 goal is healthy, happy and whole puppies.
